is yancey red right for your social media?

HOW WE’RE MADE

First, let’s tell you about our name. Yancey is an homage to our founder’s paternal grandmother, Nancy Yancey. If she was alive today, she’d be mixing it up with everything that’s happening. She’d love the speed, the style, and the way we use morsels of language to convey meaning.

Nancy would be an influencer

Even in her prime—from the mid-1940s thru the late 70s—she was an influencer, sipping her branch water bourbon with a bulldog under her arm. Born under the sign of Aries, Nancy was flair and substance.

She was a self-made entrepreneur who loved marketing and numbers equally—a perfect balance of right- and left-brain thinking with a fiery creative streak that ran down the middle. A networker and a connecter, she built and led projects, and never left anything unfinished.

The first thing people noticed about Nancy was her red hair

Legend has it Nancy arrived on earth with a shock of red hair and a pair of feet that were ready to dance. For us, the red symbolizes energy, tenacity and verve. Just like Nancy, Yancey Red was made this way.

We put our red to work for you.

WHAT WE LIKE

Our drive starts at red and rolls toward whatever color you like. We create situations in your social messaging that are as light or as serious as you want to be, always targeted according to the audience segments you need to reach.

Do you want whimsy? Something studious and somber? Buttoned up and corporate with the occasional joke?

We uncover what’s at the root of how you define social media success, then fire it up accordingly so your voice is a true reflection of your brand—and not simply an affectation that someone will scroll past without thinking.

people care about the things they care about.

People care about the things they care about

This is a huge reason why social media matters. People with back pain care about the support they receive. HR managers care about the software they’re about to suggest at the next leadership meeting. Gamers care about the games they play. Bike commuters care about the bikes they ride…

When someone looks up information about their chiropractor…or their software vendor…or their game designer…they’re bringing a very specific attitude and lens to their search. That’s why anything we work on with you, whether it’s a targeted ad campaign, daily or weekly posts, or an integrated content marketing program, is built with an awareness of your audience first.

What steps do we follow before we make a single post?

Discovery. Yes, everyone does this. Or at least they should.

We’re going to ask you the following types of questions. If you know the answers, great! If not, then we’ll get there together.

  • How are you working now?

  • How would you like to be working?

  • Where do you see yourself?

  • What do you want to do (online) but feel like you can’t (with your work)?

  • Who’s your audience?

  • Who’s using your website? How are they getting there? How would you like to enhance this?

Noticed we haven’t mentioned “social media” yet?

That’s because our background comes from a number of places: project management, tech, creating writing, homebirth labor…in all of those places, we’ve been asked to be adept in our asking and in our listening.

If our ears aren’t working for you, then our fingers won’t be much help either.
