Book and Social Media Movement

Shining the light on traumatic birth, Homebirth Cesarean began as a Facebook group in 2011 and continues to grow everyday via this private Facebook group.

In support of planned out-of-hospital births that ended in a hospital operating room, we developed conference and workshop curriculum for multiple target audiences, wrote press releases, crafted articles, blog posts, managed PR, and daily social media posts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Working with a cadre of volunteers, we wrote internal training and protocol documents for community and social media management. And finally, we actively promoted two Homebirth Cesarean books; a main book for birth professionals and families and a workbook for cesarean mothers. We raised over $23,000 on (and off) Indiegogo to fund the writing of these books by harnessing the power of social media community.
