Leader’s Instagram and Facebook pages represent two different communities of maple farmers. Instagram posts, stories, and reels speak to the younger and often multi-generation sugar farmers, while their Facebook audience tends to use Facebook as their main business page. Both platforms are managed for maximum audience engagement and community building.

The Leader Google My Business listing focuses primarily on product highlights and sales. These posts directly link to Leader’s product pages for maximum sales impact.

The Process

Storyworkz Photography is Leader’s Agency of Record, and they are the lead on all photos and videos for Leader. Storyworkz brought in Yancey Red in September 2021 with the intention to increase engagement and produce creative content.

Posting began in October, 2021 with a curated approach to Instagram and Facebook marketing. Posts were focused on community building by inviting maple farmers to include Leader in their operational posts.

The strategy around Goolge My Business posts is to support paid Google ads and spotlight one product per week, with direct links back to Leader’s website.

Having continued access to professional photos and videos is a constant source of inspiration and information to the maple syrup community.

Social Media Results

Yancey Red was able to actively engage the maple farm communities from Missouri to Maine. During the 2022 sugaring season, an average of 100 engagements, 5 comments, and 8 tags per day on Instagram were seen.

Facebook showed a consistent increase in shared and contributed content across audience segments. Engagement and traffic increased and continued to accelerate above the previous year’s numbers.

High viewership on Google led to a 60% increase in online sales.
