From google Page Four to Page One

Yancey Red developed a custom SEO strategy for Artshaped Photography after auditing the company’s website, competitors, search rankings, and target markets in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

The initial project included rewriting website content for search and mobile users, incorporating strategic photography and location-based keywords, and training the client to manage SEO within Wix. Within weeks, the business moved from the fourth page to the first page of Google and Yahoo search results.

When Artshaped Photography later migrated to WordPress and experienced a drop in search rankings, Yancey Red was brought back to identify what had changed. We evaluated the new site, developed SEO recommendations, implemented technical backend WordPress optimizations, and created an ongoing SEO best-practices resource the business could continue using independently.

“Yancey Red took us from page four to page one in a matter of weeks. Courtney made SEO understandable, gave us practical tools to maintain it, and was the first person we called when a website change affected our rankings.”
— Diana, photography business owner

About The Client

Artshaped Photography is a professional photography business serving clients in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. In a highly competitive, location-driven industry, appearing prominently in search results was critical for reaching prospective clients actively searching for photography services.

The Process

Yancey Red began with a website and competitor audit to understand how Artshaped Photography was performing in search and where opportunities existed. We developed a custom SEO strategy incorporating mobile-friendly website copy, photography industry keywords, Los Angeles and Santa Monica location terms, and Wix SEO training so the client could maintain the work independently.

When the business migrated to WordPress in 2019 and rankings declined, Yancey Red conducted a second SEO review. Although the keyword-rich content had been transferred, important technical SEO elements had not been implemented on the WordPress backend.

We identified and implemented those technical changes, provided additional SEO recommendations, and created a resource document outlining ongoing SEO best practices to protect and strengthen the company’s organic search visibility.

Social Media Results

The initial SEO work produced a clear and measurable change in organic search visibility. Within weeks, Artshaped Photography moved from the fourth page to the first page of Google and Yahoo search results for its targeted photography and location-based searches.

When rankings later declined following the move from Wix to WordPress, Yancey Red identified the missing technical SEO elements, implemented backend improvements, and helped restore stronger search engine rankings.

The client also left each engagement with practical SEO training and documentation, giving them the tools to maintain search optimization as their website and business evolved.
